This book is the continuation of the story of Etania Selali embracing her role as a Vexli. As such, she must choose to follow her destiny or risk watching herself, and those she loves, fall prey to darkness.

With many familiar faces, Etania’s Destiny places the cast of characters in the context of a great war fueled by power struggles between Tamnarae leaders as well as a greater fight between good and evil. Readers see glimpses of the struggles of characters and how faith helps them overcome their doubts. Additionally, there is a LOT that happens on the battlefront! The author does an overall great job of building tension with the context of a great war between darkness and light. Simultaneously, she weaves in relatable inner spiritual struggles—and a swoony wedding and romantic getaway before the fighting begins—in this fantasy narrative.
Why This Series is a Must Read for Young People
The story world of Etania Selali provides a fictional sphere built on important life lessons rooted in biblical truth. One of the elements that most stands out to me as an adult reader is the depiction of what healthy relationships look like. As such, this is a book I would encourage my own daughter (once in her teens) to read. Both young adult and new adult female readers will find Etania’s struggle to accept herself and her calling relatable. Further, there is enough action and interesting world building that young men will enjoy the narrative, too. And both young women and young men can benefit from seeing healthy relationships and examples of living by faith in media!
It is definitely a must-read and a must-add to your home library!
