My Thoughts
Guess Who is in God’s Family is a delightful continuation of young Lucy’s journey through the Bible with her Papa Joe. Framing the lesson through natural curiosity, Papa Joe teaches Lucy about humanity’s first family. Pulling from Scripture while framing the story of Adam and Eve in kid-friendly language, readers will learn along with Lucy that all people make mistakes. But, though mistakes have consequences, we will never do anything to stop being loved by God.
In addition to teaching about God’s never-ending love, the picture book also introduces children to lessons on people being one family in Christ, the importance of listening to God, and that God has a plan for all of His children. With important vocabulary, comprehension questions, and a list of notable Bible verses, this book can be used again and again to help build literacy skills in addition to establishing foundations in Bible study with elementary students. Guess Who is in God’s Family is an engaging, gospel-centered picture book that is a must-have for home, school, and church libraries!
